THE FIRM
Aquitaine Investment Advisors was founded in 1999 by investment professionals with a combined 100+ years of Asian investment, in both the private and public markets. Its licensed managers are all investment professionals with longstanding and insightful experience of the Asian markets.

INVESTMENT ADVISORY
Aquitaine's primary investment mandate is a speciality in alternative investments targeted to the Asian markets, with risk and return parameters, liquidities, investment objectives and procedures structured according to the specific requirements of its clients. Aquitaine's client base includes institutional investors in the US, Europe and Asia.

ALTERNATIVES MARKETING
Aquitaine's second operation concentrates on the marketing and distribution of a select portfolio of third party alternative investment products and services to its Asian institutional client base. Aquitaine sources single and multi-manager funds globally to suit the investment requirements of its institutional clients in Asia. Its portfolio of products represented in the region reflects the best fund in each alternative strategy. Aquitaine's marketing professionals interpret client needs and originate bespoke products, customizing funds and managed accounts in order to fulfill clients' financial solutions.

Aquitaine is licensed by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong.

THE PRINCIPALS
Marlene R Wittman, Group Managing Director

Ms Wittman oversees Aquitaine's pan-Asian investment management services and strategies. Ms Wittman has direct responsibility for the Group's private equity and venture capital operations and serves on the Investment Committees for the firm's hedge fund investments and oversees the Group's specialist marketing and distribution operation within the region. Ms Wittman has approximately twenty years' experience in the Asian region in the investment in and research of Asian companies and capital markets. Prior to founding Aquitaine, she was a Director of Nikko Securities (Hong Kong) and Nikko Europe Plc (London). Her experience of investment management stems from her experience with a Boston-based investment advisory and with a Hong Kong-based private equity group. Ms Wittman holds an AB from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School. Additionally, Ms Wittman holds an MBA in international finance. She also attended Fudan University in Shanghai and the Institute of International Relations of National Chengchi University in Taipei. She is fluent in spoken and written Mandarin, in addition to Russian and French. Ms Wittman is a registered investment advisor with the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong.

Arthur E Yama, Managing Director

Arthur Yama is an American citizen and has co-responsibility for the Group's overall investment management services and strategies. He has direct responsibility for the Group's real estate investments and advisory services and serves on the Investment Committees for the firm's hedge fund platform, private equity and real estate investment. Mr Yama has over 10 years experience in the Asian region and 20 years of professional experience in investment management.

Immediately prior to Aquitaine, Mr Yama was Director at the Hong Kong headquarters of Managing Partners Limited, an Asian regional workout and financial restructuring consultancy, where he headed the Real Estate Workout Group. Previously in Hong Kong, he was employed by Nikko Securities as Senior Regional Analyst.

While in the US, he was Executive Vice President of Batterymarch Advisors and President of Liberty Companies, both positions involving asset and portfolio management. Prior to these positions, Mr Yama was engaged in capital investment activities in New York and Boston.

Mr Yama holds a BS degree in Economics from Dartmouth College and an MAR degree from Harvard University. He is a registered investment advisor with the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong.
